The challenge

A Nekt customer since January 2026. For an AI company, one simple question used to stall the team: how much does this AI actually cost, per user? Answering it meant manually joining spend from OpenAI, Anthropic and gateways with cloud cost, then crossing it with revenue. That work is gone.

What they built

The AI company that measures its own AI

Adapta is one of Brazil's leading AI-for-business companies: an all-in-one platform bringing together 15+ models (GPT, Claude, Gemini and more), courses, the AI Immersion for CEOs, the Adapta Labs consultancy and Adapta Summit, the country's largest AI-for-business event. Its data maturity matches: 24 data sources, 211 active transformations, 269 pipelines and a self-hosted MCP server on its own domain, built in about eight months, with 39 people in the workspace.

What Adapta built on Nekt

  • AI and cloud FinOps, per user. While everyone talks about AI, Adapta measures it: the cost of OpenAI, Anthropic and gateways, and of its cloud, per user, crossed with revenue, to know the real margin of an AI product. Unit economics of AI, done with data.
  • Multi-acquirer payment reconciliation. A digital product bills through many providers. Adapta unifies Stripe, Pagar.me, Iugu, Guru, Kamino and Qive into one accounting model: entries, deferred revenue, tax and reconciliation, without spreadsheets.
  • Product and sales in one place. Revenue facts and executive scorecards, the sales funnel from HubSpot, and product analytics from PostHog, modeled together, plus CNPJ enrichment from the public transparency portal.
  • Agents over the business itself. A self-hosted Nekt MCP server at mcpnekt.adapta.org lets AI agents reason over sales, product and finance in plain language. Fitting, for a company that sells AI.

The systems behind it

Twenty-four data sources feed the layer, unified and modeled instead of left as raw exports. Among them:

An AI company, run with data

Adapta sells AI, and runs on the same discipline: it knows what each AI user costs and earns. Nekt is the data and AI operating system behind that, context served so people and agents answer instead of guess. It is the same idea behind context engineering for AI agents and a governed MCP server for data. Learn more about Adapta.
